Roles and Responsibilities of a Software Tester


Software Tester's Roles and Responsibilities:


1. Analyzing requirement documents (SRS, FRS, BRS etc.), user stories, use cases for Project feasibility, Project scoping, and static testing.

2. Collaborating closely with the development team and other departments.
3. Execution of all levels of testing that is System testing, Integration testing, and Regression testing.

4. Designing and developing manual test cases, automation test scripts and their execution.

5. Reviewing Test Cases/scripts.

6. Finding, writing/locking and tracking software defects and inconsistencies in bug tracking system.

7. Preparing test plan document, bug reports, requirement traceability matrix and test summery reports

8. Providing timely solutions.

9. Applying quality engineering principals throughout the software product life cycle.
